We are a newly incorporated blank check company. We currently intend to concentrate our efforts on identifying businesses in the insurance-related technology sector, which we refer to in this prospectus as InsurTech. InsurTech businesses use technology to maximize savings and efficiency, launch growth opportunities and innovate new risk selection processes in the insurance industry. We also intend to concentrate our efforts more broadly on identifying businesses that provide insurance products and services in all sectors of the insurance industry, including carriers, managing general agents, claims administrators and brokers, where technology can be utilized to enhance the underlying business. Our sponsor, Pine Technology Sponsor LLC, is a newly formed company that was founded by current and former senior executives of AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., which we refer to in this prospectus as AmTrust, and by founding investor Trident, which is beneficially owned by funds managed by Stone Point Capital. AmTrust is a multinational insurance holding company headquartered in New York, with over 5,200 employees in 18 countries, that was taken private by Barry D. Zyskind and Trident in 2018.
